Knee pain

Many people experience knee pain at some point in their lives. Sometimes the pain is hardly disturbing, sometimes it is a heavy burden. The diagnosis and the correct treatment of the pain are always crucial so that they do not settle in the long term.

We would like to inform you about the causes of knee pain, how it can be treated and how in particular a knee brace like KNEO can help with different types of knee pain.

What are the causes of knee pain?

The causes of knee pain are diverse: injuries, infections, rheumatism, arthrosis, metabolic diseases … to name just a few examples. The range of therapies is correspondingly diverse. As soon as you notice pain in your knee, you should have it checked by a doctor. Let him calm you down rather than living with the worries of the pain for a long time.

Knee pain can have harmless reasons, for example in growth phases in children and adolescents.

Or they have an obvious reason, such as a sports injury.

As a rule, however, knee pain is a warning signal from the body that should not be ignored.

Therefore, for all those who do not know the reason for the pain, it is better to go to the doctor too often than once too little.

Do not wait to see a doctor until you can hardly walk in pain! The earlier you start therapy, the less severe the effects. You will experience less pain over time and can continue to move well.

There are also serious knee injuries or illnesses that are initially painless. Osteoarthritis, for example, sometimes only becomes noticeable when the condition is already advanced. Many people are also slowly getting used to the increasing pain and ignoring the pain in the knee for fear of a diagnosis.

How is knee pain treated?

The best treatment for knee pain depends on the cause of the pain. Therefore, the first step in any treatment is the correct diagnosis. You then decide on the next steps together with your doctor or other therapist. Because the therapy consists of several steps:

  • Treating the cause through prevention: if the pain is caused by a malposition or by wear of the joint due to incorrect posture, this problem must be addressed.
  • Treatment of the injury: In the case of arthrosis, the damaged joint must be supported or it can be strengthened by surgery.
  • Physiotherapy to strengthen the muscles: If the knee joint is weakened, the cartilage cannot be rebuilt. However, strong muscles can support it and thus reduce further stress.
  • Pain therapy: Pain must often be treated separately from the cause. Pain therapy can include pain relievers or psychological help. Chronic pain is often a difficult problem that should not be taken lightly.

What are the benefits of wearing a knee brace for knee pain?

A knee brace can help you with knee pain in a variety of ways. Some people know that they are at risk of knee injury or osteoarthritis due to a malposition.

You can wear a knee brace to prevent this disease or to correct the malposition. The knee brace supports treatment after an injury or surgery by supporting the knee, thereby reducing stress on the joint.

A knee brace is also helpful in combination with physiotherapy. During therapy, you will learn how to properly strain your knee. This is often a question of practice. A knee brace helps to set this load correctly so that you don’t overuse yourself.

At the same time, the muscle can be strengthened. The knee brace also supports the training here: It is important to train the strain on the right muscles.

For most patients, a knee brace has the most noticeable effect of reducing pain. The knee is better supported and relaxed. In the short term, this results in less stress and the pain caused by the acute stimulus disappears.

Often, however, the knee joint is also irritated or inflamed. This pain disappears after a while. Some patients report that after a few months they have to wear the brace during the day, but can take it off in the evening without feeling the pain from the stress during the day.

In which cases does the KNEO knee brace help and how does it work?

The knee brace KNEO relieves pain in the knee and supports healing in various injuries and illnesses. The use of KNEO is indicated for:

  • osteoarthristis of the knee (gonarthrosis), especially with bow leg or knock knee deformity
  • injuries to the knee where the meniscus has to be relieved
  • after surgery on ligaments and meniscus to secure the surgical result
  • after lateral ligament injuries on the knee, especially in the event of instability

KNEO is used for one-sided pain in the knee joint, i.e. for arthrosis in the inner (medial) OR outer (lateral) area of the knee. This pain is reduced by moving the load line in the knee inwards or outwards.

As soon as the entire knee is affected by osteoarthritis, i.e. both the inner and the outer area, a load shift makes little sense.

KNEO relieves knee pain by relieving the knee joint from one side.

Due to its mode of action, KNEO shifts the load line running through the knee joint medially (inside) or laterally (outside).

The corresponding other compartment is relieved.

The forces required for relief are generated when the leg is extended.

The sole is tilted slightly to the side. This tilting movement is transferred to the pad via the side bar and thus generates the corrective force.

KNEO only affects the knee joint without affecting the ankle.

Knee pain should be taken seriously! It is best to have them treated early. As mentioned, the first step in treatment is the diagnosis.

So talk to your doctor about the condition and get advice. Even if a diagnosis has already been made and you have tried many options, you can find out more about KNEO.
